Whilst on holiday on Hamilton Island, I broke a tooth. I called Smilemakers, who are on the Mainland and I was booked in for 2 days later. I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist and only waited 10 minutes before being seen. The dentist, Jacques, was fantastic. He made me feel at ease immediately and talked me through the whole process. Dr Jack and his assistant Emenie were fantastic and they were able to resolve the issue with my tooth and I was on my way in an hour. Their friendliness and expertise was outstanding. Dr Fraser is professional and really kind, however I don’t know if I should trust them again. We agreed to split the root canal treatment into 3 stages, so I could start the treatment with the most economic stage (1st one) and then save for the last 2 (most expensive ones), because my insurance doesn’t cover it. The first one was supposed to be 200 AUD. I came one day before the appointment, to check if the price was correct and they said between 200 and 300 AUD. I accepted it. The day of the treatment, after getting out and still under the effects of anesthesia, I proceed to pay at reception and suddenly it was 410 AUD. Maybe for some people it’s not much difference, but I think it’s Important comply with your words. Now I’m in the middle of the treatment with a aching tooth and unsure to go back or look for another dentist because that attitude make me not trust them.
