Strict infection control procedures, patient health screening & social distancing protocols will still be continued at our practice to keep you safe during this time.
Our team will be contacting each & every patient to reschedule their appointments that have been postponed due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions, to recommence any treatment that may have been put on hold or to schedule a new appointment.
Thank you for your co-operation during this time, we aim to look after you & your smile during these challenging times and beyond.
From The Smile Makers Whitsundays Team
As dentistry has been declared an essential service we would like to provide advice and recommendations in regards to Covid-19 (Coronavirus) to all our patients regarding the implementation of restrictions in the provision of dental services in Queensland.
First and foremost, we will always continue our commitment to sanitation & infection control – rest assured we’re implementing further high standard of precautions to ensure safety to all that visit our practice.
Your oral health is our number one priority—and oral health directly relates to overall health, we feel it’s our duty to continue to see patients and provide care to those in need.
However according to Australian Dental Association (A.D.A) guidelines ONLY URGENT & EMERGENCY treatments are only able to be provided to limit risks to our patients, our practitioners and our support staff.
Please be sure to call the practice to see if you fit this criteria, as all treatments will be determined case by case.
Patients that will not meet the criteria for appointment :
* Self-isolating (whether or not they are symptomatic)
* Recently have been overseas or been in touch with someone that has travelled overseas.
* Age group of 70 or older, pregnant, medically or immuno-compromised
* Have any of the following symptoms – Shortness of breath, high temperature, fever, cough, sore throat, runny/stuffy nose, body aches, headaches, chills, fatigue, vomiting, diarrhea or any flu/cold like symptoms.
*Please note, if you do have any of these symptoms – please call your GP or the hospital as soon as possible*
Please be advised the following steps will need to be completed prior to an appointment:
– Upon arrival at the practice reception, please use alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
– When entering the surgery please use the alcohol-based hand sanitiser located on the front desk or waiting area.
– Prior to commencing treatment, you will be asked to undertake a 20-30 second pre-procedural mouth rinse with either in the treatment room.
We are here to support our patients as much as we can, considering the circumstances and we will keep you updated as the COVID-19 situation evolves in Queensland. We wish you all the very best in these difficult times.
If you have any questions about appointments, please don’t hesitate to give us a call. We will also be contacting patients with upcoming appointments to reschedule treatment until further notice.
